The term Ayurveda comprises two words of ‘Ayu’ – life and ‘veda’ – knowledge/science thus, science of life that deals with health and wellbeing. Ayurveda is the oldest healthcare system in India. According to Ayurveda, our wellbeing is dependent on physical, mental, and spiritual health. And, therefore, to attain good health one must adopt good dietary and lifestyle habits.

Food collection, food processing, food incompatibilities, unseasonal food consumption, food quality all this can affect one’s health.

Simple example of different food properties: puffed rice is lighter compared to cooked rice which is a bit heavy to digest.  

Buttermilk is lighter than yoghurt. Churning makes a difference in the potency and food property changes.

This is a remarkably interesting area and I have been learning about food and nutrition, thus thought to share my knowledge with you all.
